Privacy at a glance

• We use Supabase Magic Links for login (we store your email so we can sign you in).
• We don’t sell your personal info.
• Your posts and profile fields may be visible to other logged-in classmates, depending on your settings.
• You control whether you receive newsletters and announcements.

1) What We Collect

A. Information you provide

Depending on how you use the Site, you may provide:

• Account and contact information: email address (used for login), name (optional), graduation/class details (optional), and other profile information you choose to share.
• Community content: posts, announcements, comments, tributes, “In Memoriam” submissions, memories, and any text you submit.
• Media uploads: photos or other files you upload (e.g., yearbook photos, reunion photos).
• Communication preferences: your choices about receiving newsletters and announcements (including death/memorial announcements).

B. Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we may automatically collect:

• Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, approximate location (from IP), and timestamps.
• Cookies / local storage: used for essential site functionality (for example, keeping you signed in) and potentially for analytics (if enabled).

2) How Login Works (Supabase Magic Link)

We use Supabase for authentication, including Magic Link login.

• When you enter your email address to sign in, Supabase sends you a one-time sign-in link (Magic Link) by email.
• We (and/or Supabase acting on our behalf) process your email address to deliver that login link and to secure access to your account.
• Supabase may log technical details related to authentication (for example, timestamps, IP address, and user agent) to protect against abuse and support account security.

3) How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide and operate the Site (accounts, login, profiles, directory features, memories, announcements, and admin tools).
• Authenticate users and secure the Site (including fraud prevention and abuse detection).
• Send communications you request (such as newsletters, reunion announcements, and optional memorial/death announcements).
• Moderate and maintain community safety (including reviewing content, responding to reports, preventing spam).
• Improve the Site (bug fixes, performance, and feature improvements).
• Comply with legal obligations (if applicable).

4) Communications and Subscription Choices

We may send emails related to:

• Account access: Magic Links and security notices.
• Transactional/community notices: important updates that affect your use of the Site (e.g., policy changes).
• Optional communications: newsletters, announcements, event updates, and memorial/death announcements—based on your preferences.

5) Sharing and Disclosure

A. With service providers (processors)

We use vendors to host and run parts of the Site. These providers process information on our behalf, such as:

• Supabase (authentication, and possibly database/storage depending on your architecture)
• Vercel (site hosting, infrastructure, logging)
• Email delivery provider used for Magic Links and/or newsletters/announcements ([NAME, if any])
• Analytics provider ([NAME, if enabled])

B. With other members of the community

If you post content (memories, tributes, comments, profile fields you choose to publish), that content may be visible to other logged-in community members, depending on your privacy settings and the Site’s design.

C. For legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect our rights, or protect the safety of users or the public.

D. Business changes

If the Site is reorganized (for example, transferring administration to a new reunion committee), information may be transferred as part of that change, consistent with this Policy.

6) Content, Photos, and “In Memoriam” Information

Some community content may include sensitive personal information about individuals (for example, obituaries or memorial posts).

• Please only share what you have the right to share.
• If you believe content is inaccurate, inappropriate, or should be removed, contact us at linda@whitestation70.com and include enough detail for us to locate it.

7) Data Retention

We keep information only as long as necessary to:

• operate the Site,
• maintain community history and posts (if that is the purpose of the Site),
• comply with legal obligations, and
• resolve disputes and enforce agreements.

Examples:

• Login/auth logs may be retained for security and auditing for a limited period.
• Community posts and memories may remain until removed by you (if allowed) or by administrators.

8) Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your information (subject to certain exceptions, such as security logs or content retained for legitimate community/archive purposes)
• Opt out of optional emails (newsletters and announcements)
